The Little Ones

Since we've been married, my wife and I have shared our lives and our home with four cats and one dog (not all at once). Our first cat Templeton blessed us for 15 years and we adopted our second cat Scout as a kitten in May of 2001. After Templeton passed away in December of 2007, we adopted Sam and Emma a few days before Christmas. All of the cats are named after characters from literature: Templeton the rat in Charlotte’s Web, Scout Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird (my favorite book), Jane Austen’s Emma, and Sam(wise) from The Lord of the Rings. We broke with the literary names when we adopted our dog Ellie in January of 2009, a five-year old black lab mix who was known to be cat-friendly.

	2011 Gallery Thankfully a quiet year with no major injuries or surgeries!		2010: No New Pets We've a full house now with three cats and a dog, so hopefully there will be no visits to the Humane Society for a long while.
	2009: Three Cats, One Dog We adopted our dog Ellie on January 12th, bringing our little zoo to a total of three cats and a dog.		2008: New Beginnings Our first full year with Sam and Emma ends with an honest-to-goodness white Christmas.
