And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger, next to the biggest cat you’ve ever seen. Seriously, he’s enormous!”
Luke 2:8-12
It was one year ago today that we said goodbye to Templeton. I was a dog person growing up, we had an outdoor cat but I was rather indifferent to it. But I met Templeton when my wife and I started dating and we hit it off right from the start. He completely changed my thinking about cats, he’d meet me us the door when we came home, loved to play, and loved to cuddle in our laps.
I still wasn’t sure if he turned me into a cat person or a Templeton person until we first brought Scout home, and now I can’t imagine my life without cats. Sam and Emma owe a great deal to a little gray cat that they never met.
This picture is of Templeton from Christmas 2004, he loved everything about the holidays. The tree, the tree’s big box, the wrapping paper, the ornaments, the fresh bags of catnip, and even the nativity scene for whatever reason he just loved to sit in. I especially like that he’s watching the Christ child just like all the others in the scene.
